Wine Tasting in Montalcino – Il Cocco
An organic farm in the heart of Brunello
Il Cocco is located 5 km from Montalcino, on the southern slope of the appellation, and is one of the smallest and most authentic wineries in the area: 10,000 bottles per year, certified organic farming since the 2000s, and a vision that has never changed over time.
Today, Giacomo manages everything—from the vineyard to the cellar—with the curiosity of someone who continues to experiment and the consistency of someone who has never stopped believing in natural wine.
What does the tasting include?
The winery tour is a guided tour of the places where the wine is made: the steel tanks, the aging barrels, the bottling room, all the way to the labeling and storage areas. Not a static tasting, but a stroll through the aromas and sounds of a real winery.
During the tour, Giacomo discusses the appellations, the Brunello di Montalcino production regulations, and the concrete meaning of making an organic wine—how it differs from a conventional wine, and what's really behind the label.
You'll taste three wines , including Brunello di Montalcino , paired with typical local products. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours .
An experience to come out more aware
The goal isn't to amaze, but to tell a story. Those who visit Il Cocco leave with something extra: a different understanding of wine, the Val d'Orcia terroir, and the work that goes into every bottle.

What's included in the tasting
The 35 euros per person includes everything you need for a complete and worry-free experience.
A guided tour of the cellar with Giacomo, who will personally accompany you through every room of the production facility, explaining the work behind every bottle. A tasting of three of our organic wines —including Brunello di Montalcino —will be served as you tour the barrels and vats. A platter of artisanal cured meats and cheeses from the Siena area, carefully selected to perfectly complement the wines.
No extras, no surprises. What you read is what you get.

What's not included
The tasting is a complete experience as it is intended, but there are a few things worth knowing before coming.
Additional wines beyond the three included in the tour are not included—but if you find something you love during the tour, you can purchase bottles directly at the winery. Transportation is not included: Il Cocco is located 5 km from Montalcino and can be reached by car, so we recommend planning ahead and taking your time, enjoying the Val d'Orcia scenery along the way. Full meals are not included: the charcuterie and cheese platter is designed to accompany the tasting, not replace a meal.

Discover Il Cocco , one of Montalcino 's most intimate and authentic wineries. Pioneers of organic farming since the early 2000s, we have chosen to protect the land by rejecting pesticides and investing in viticulture that celebrates the life and biodiversity of the soil.
With less than 3 hectares of vineyards , our production is limited and precious: around 10,000 bottles a year , destined for private collectors and selected international importers who seek the truest soul of the Ilcinese terroir.
Our vision extends beyond the vineyard. On a hectare dedicated to experimentation, we are developing an innovative project in regenerative natural agriculture and agroforestry . Here, vegetables and fruit grow in harmony with the ecosystem, regenerating the land for future generations.

We ask all our guests to present themselves at the Az. Agr. Coconut at least 10 minutes before the start of the visit/tasting.
In the event of a delay of more than 30 minutes compared to the booking time, it will not be possible to guarantee participation in the visit and/or tasting and the customer will not be entitled to a refund of any price paid.
Smoking is absolutely prohibited inside the cellar and tasting rooms. Access to children under 18 must be communicated in order to manage the number of participants as best as possible
