The Visit+Paired Meal experience is, for us, the highest way to get to know the magic of our place. After the guided tour of the estate, visiting the production areas, the aging cellar and the historic cellars of the medieval village of Ama, Guests will enjoy a daily prepared menu designed to enhance the tasting of the Castello di Ama's Fine Wines.
Along the entire route, the presence of the genius loci will be constant, materialized and made tangible by the site-specific installations that make up our Contemporary Art Collection.
Our point of view and the wines for tasting change every year: the experience is recommended also to those who have already visited us in the past.
"The Feast of Villa Pianigiani" represents the pinnacle of hospitality at Castello di Ama. This journey is meticulously designed to pair a refined four-course menu with a tasting of our most prestigious wines. At the conclusion of the private guided tour, guests are escorted into the majestic halls of Villa Pianigiani, where the core of the experience begins.
The tasting opens alongside the appetizer with "haiku", whose remarkable balance and fullness of flavor set the stage for our most representative wine: the "Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Ama San Lorenzo", presented in the '2018' vintage.
The journey continues with the main course, accompanied by the prestigious "Vigneto La Casuccia" cru – a pioneer in the blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. The experience reaches its crescendo with a selection of Tuscan cheeses, specifically chosen to complement the most celebrated of our single-vineyard selections: "L’Apparita", a wine whose legacy dates back to its inaugural 1985 vintage.

The village of Ama lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region, within the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, one of the three historic towns of the Lega del Chianti. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, and as early as the late 18th century, Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo of Tuscany praised its land as being "kept in marvelous condition," recognizing its exceptional agricultural vocation.
Located one hour by car from Florence and half an hour from Siena, Ama is a place where time seems to stand still, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and centuries-old olive groves.
In 1976, four families from Rome chose Ama as the home of Castello di Ama, embarking on an ambitious project to restore this land to its former glory. On the southern slope of the hill, they built the winery, the beating heart of the estate’s wine production.
The village has preserved its authentic charm, with rustic dwellings and two grand 18th-century villas: Villa Pianigiani, which now houses the Enoteca and Ristoro, and Villa Ricucci, a residence steeped in history and memory.
Completing this place of tradition and beauty is the Arca building, the new welcome center for visitors, located next to the parking area nestled among the olive trees of Bellavista—the first step in discovering Ama.
