The Capezzana Experience - Wine Tour Experience

Capezzana is located in Tuscany in Carmignano: the smallest DOCG in Tuscany and one of the first four denominations in the world introduced in 1716 by the Grand Duke of Tuscany.

The wines in Carmignano must have at least 50% Sangiovese and a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 20% of Cabernet «Uva Francesca», brought to these lands in 1500 by Caterina De' Medici.

The farmer is always aware that respect for the land is essential to provide those who will work in the future with an intact and healthy land. Our philosophy as farmers is to respect and maintain the integrity of this magnificent and unique land, ensuring its abundance for future generations. Tenuta di Capezzana is proud to be certified Organic and to represent the character of the land of origin using indigenous yeasts, eliminating the use of selected yeasts in the fermentation processes.

Time seems to have never passed in Capezzana: a magical place, where the organic production of oil and wine has been inextricably linked to the territory for over 1200 years now, as evidenced by a parchment dated 804 preserved in the State Archives of Florence. The geographical location between Montalbano and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines determines the particularity of the microclimate: hot summer days followed by cool nights, well-distributed rainfall throughout the year and constant ventilation.
